Ten To Follow - Top Tips

Our Racing Post Experts have put together some top tips that you will need to act on if you want to win some HUGE cash prizes during the Jumps season...

Cheltenham Festival - 7 Bonus Races in March
  • You've got to try and cover the bonus races. So you're looking at horses which are ultimately going to win at the Cheltenham Festival, and hopefully collect a Grade 1 en-route in Britain or Ireland.
  • Paul Nicholls - he's got the power-house of chasers, and now hurdlers, and it's hard to imagine he won't win a number of bonus races.

  • Kauto Star - World's best chaser?
  • Chasers are essential - the points system does favour the chasers and it's likely a winning team will be weighted with chasers.
  • Throw in the odd staying hurdler, but avoid the novice hurdlers.
  • Don't try to be too clever! Every year the Ten to Follow is dominated by the elite horses from the top stables.
  • Remember, it might be worth holding-fire on selecting any horses that you think won't be making an appearance/won't be at their best until after the New Year, as you can always add then in the bonus window in February.

  • Big Buck's - Top staying hurdler
  • Injuries to your selected horses are always a headache, but the bonus window in February gives you the chance to bolster your entry - so make your selections wisely!
  • Remember, your top ten scoring horses will count for the overall league table - the lowest scoring two will be overlooked.
  • Your Grand National candidate - it's likely to make sense to keep your Grand National selection to add in the February transfer window.
