Prize Money

...Is big! The last five winners of the competition have walked away with £444,500 (Sam Hoskins 2008/09), £520,000 (Gerry Paulus who came first and second in 2007/08!), £455,000 (Barry Fitzgibbon 2006/07), £478,990 (Brian Munnelly 2005/06), £554,305 (the McNulty Brothers 2004/05).

The Ten to Follow competition is operated as a pool by the The Tote, which means that all the entry money will be aggregated and paid out in dividends after a 30% deduction to cover administration and expenses.

Which means there's a huge amount of prize-money to be won and it doesn't all just go to the winner...

  • £65,000 will be allocated for the four monthly prizes and Cheltenham Festival dividends, with the balance divided as follows: winner 70%; 2nd 10%, 3rd 5%, 4th 4.5%, 5th 3%, 6th 2.5%, 7th 2%, 8th 1.5%, 9th 1%, 10th 0.5%.
  • £10,000 monthly prize: monthly dividends of £10,000 each will be paid at the end of December, January, February and March to the entrant with most points during the month.
  • £25,000 Cheltenham Festival special prize: £25,000 will be paid to the entrant with most points in the races scheduled to form the Cheltenham Festival meeting (March 16-19). In the event of the complete festival being abandoned and not rescheduled during the period of the contest, the £25,000 will revert to the overall pool and be distributed accordingly.

In the event of a tie for any places, the dividends for the places concerned will be shared. If you need help with your entry, call the helpline on 0800 666 160 or email us at totetentofollow@totesport.com
